After eleven months of construction, SSEED Ghana officially handed over the rebuilt classroom blocks and new library at Accra Community School to the school administration and the wider community.
The project, funded through our Education Access Initiative, replaced four structurally unsound classrooms and added a dedicated library, the school’s first, stocked with over 1,200 books donated by our partner EduBridge Ghana.
More than 600 students are now learning in safe, properly ventilated classrooms. Head Teacher Grace Amankwah said the new library alone has already changed how students spend their break times: "Where they used to wait outside, now they read."
This is the first of three planned school rebuilds under the Education Access Initiative, with the next site, in the Central Region, expected to break ground early next year.
